Large-Scale Development with a Modern Vision

The project spans 172.6 hectares and is planned as a modern container port, serving as an international transshipment hub for the region. Its designed capacity is approximately 5.7 million TEUs per year, equivalent to 74 million tons of cargo.

The port will include 8 container berths with a total quay length of approximately 2,750 meters, capable of accommodating container vessels of up to 18,000 TEUs. The project is also oriented toward a “smart port – green port” model, applying advanced technologies and automation to enhance operational efficiency.

The development will be implemented in three phases from 2026 to 2036, with an expected operational lifespan of 50 years.

Enhancing Connectivity and Logistics Capacity

Alongside the port development, supporting infrastructure is being gradually completed. The coastal road connecting to the port has reached technical traffic readiness, forming a key transportation axis linking Lien Chieu Port to the regional logistics network.

The synchronized development of both port and infrastructure is expected to strengthen trade capacity, reduce pressure on existing ports, and facilitate import-export activities in Central Vietnam.

Investors and Commitment to Sustainable Development

The project is being developed by a consortium of Hateco Group and APM Terminals (APMT), selected through a transparent process and meeting all criteria in terms of capability and experience.

The investors are committed to implementing the project in a structured manner, complying with international standards on environmental protection and sustainable development, while contributing to job creation and socio-economic growth in the region.

Dolphin Sea Air’s Perspective

From a logistics enterprise perspective, Dolphin Sea Air considers the Lien Chieu Port project a significant advancement in expanding infrastructure capacity and diversifying transportation options for Central Vietnam.

In the long term, the project may reshape cargo flow organization and reduce reliance on existing major ports. However, its actual operational efficiency will depend on multiple factors, including cargo volume, the ability to attract international shipping routes, and the development level of the supporting logistics ecosystem.

Dolphin Sea Air will continue to closely monitor the project’s progress and remains ready to support businesses in optimizing supply chains and developing transportation solutions aligned with evolving market conditions.
