As global supply chains continue to shift, business competitiveness is no longer determined solely by scale or cost advantages. Increasingly, it depends on strategic thinking, management capabilities, and the ability to effectively organize and optimize supply chains.

At the 2026 Vietnam Private Economic Forum – Northern Region, held on October 2, 2026, Mr. Tran Dang Nam – Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association, Chairman of the Hanoi Young Entrepreneurs Association, and Chairman of Dolgroup – shared practical perspectives on the role of logistics, management strategy, and the mindset required for Vietnamese businesses to expand into international markets.

His insights highlight how businesses can strengthen their internal capabilities, adapt to market changes, and gradually enhance their position in the global supply chain.

LOGISTICS: FROM TRANSPORTATION TO END-TO-END SUPPLY CHAIN OPTIMIZATION

According to Mr. Tran Dang Nam, logistics is one of the key factors directly influencing the competitiveness of both businesses and the broader economy. However, the value of logistics goes beyond simply transporting goods. It increasingly lies in the ability to organize, connect, and optimize the entire supply chain.

He emphasized:

“Logistics today is about managing an entire supply chain and developing solutions to optimize human resources, costs, and the entire system, thereby enhancing competitiveness for businesses, organizations, or even a country.

This perspective reflects the evolving role of the logistics industry. As manufacturing activities and investment flows shift between countries, businesses require more than standalone transportation services. The ability to control costs, coordinate different supply chain stages, ensure seamless cargo flows, and respond quickly to market demand has become an increasingly important source of competitive advantage.

This is also aligned with the development direction of Dolphin Sea Air Services Corp. in providing comprehensive logistics solutions. From ocean freight, air freight, cross-border transportation, and domestic trucking to customs services and warehousing, Dolphin aims to connect different logistics services to address diverse customer requirements and support more efficient supply chain operations.

In a market where flexibility and efficiency are increasingly critical, logistics capabilities are not measured only by the quality of individual services, but also by the ability to integrate solutions, optimize resources, and deliver tangible value to customers.

4S – FOUR PILLARS FOR SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS COMPETITIVENESS

Drawing from his experience in business management, Mr. Tran Dang Nam highlighted four important elements: Strategy, Structure, Sensitive, and Society.

  • Strategy – Strategic direction:

Businesses need to establish a clear long-term vision, proactively allocate resources, and avoid becoming trapped in day-to-day operations without a clear development direction. As he shared:

“If we keep focusing on sales and solving daily issues without a strategy, we will never be able to grow on a larger scale.”

  • Structure – Organizational structure:

Restructuring management models and strengthening internal and external connectivity can help businesses maximize their resources instead of operating as isolated entities. In logistics, the ability to connect services and coordinate different links across the supply chain is particularly important.

  • Sensitive – Market sensitivity:

Businesses need to continuously monitor market trends, proactively adapt to changes, and develop flexible operating systems capable of maintaining competitiveness over the long term.

  • Society – Social responsibility:

Sustainable development is not simply about maximizing business interests. It also requires businesses to consider customers, partners, employees, and the wider community. Shared values and trust provide the foundation for long-term relationships and sustainable cooperation.

These four elements are closely interconnected, forming a foundation for stronger management capabilities and greater adaptability in an increasingly complex business environment. For Dolphin, these perspectives also provide practical guidance in strengthening its systems, developing logistics services, and enhancing connectivity across the supply chain.

GO GLOBAL – START WITH THE MINDSET, PROVE IT THROUGH CAPABILITIES

One of the key messages from Mr. Tran Dang Nam’s speech is that businesses seeking to expand internationally must first develop a global mindset at the leadership level.

He emphasized:

“As leaders, we must have a global mindset first.”

According to Mr. Nam, hiring a foreign business director or international employees does not automatically mean that a company is ready to go global. Leaders themselves need to actively study international markets, engage with global business environments, and understand how different markets operate.

Only on this foundation can businesses develop appropriate strategies and build genuine international competitiveness.

Beyond leadership mindset, businesses must create differentiation through product and service quality, professional operating models, and credibility with partners. A company may not yet have a large scale, but its ability to meet market demands and build trust must be strong enough to compete internationally.

For Dolphin Sea Air Services Corp., its international growth strategy is closely connected to continuously strengthening logistics capabilities, improving service quality, and expanding connections with international partners. Leveraging the broader Dolgroup ecosystem, Dolphin aims to maximize the power of collaboration, optimize resources, and support customers in navigating increasingly demanding cross-border supply chains.

This journey is not simply about expanding geographical reach. It is a continuous process of strengthening internal capabilities, standardizing systems, and increasing the value delivered to customers.

DOLPHIN – STRENGTHENING LOGISTICS CAPABILITIES TO SUPPORT GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAINS

The insights shared by Mr. Tran Dang Nam, Chairman of Dolgroup and Dolphin Sea Air Services Corp., at the 2026 Vietnam Private Economic Forum demonstrate that sustainable competitiveness must be built upon strategic thinking, effective organizational structures, and the ability to respond quickly to market changes.

For Dolphin, these principles provide an important direction in its journey to strengthen logistics capabilities and connect global supply chains. By integrating transportation solutions, customs services, warehousing, and an international partner network, Dolphin aims to help customers organize their logistics operations more efficiently while responding to increasingly diverse market requirements.

In today's global business environment, long-term competitive advantages come not only from scale or geographical coverage, but also from execution capabilities, service quality, and trust built through every business relationship.

Going global starts with a global mindset, is built on strong internal capabilities, and is ultimately proven through the tangible value a business delivers to customers, partners, and the global supply chain.
